About the course

Responding to disclosures of inappropriate workplace behaviours in a sensitive, trauma-informed manner can have a significant positive impact on an individual’s wellbeing at work.  

This training session, which can be customised for leadership roles with responsibility for preventing and responding to inappropriate workplace behaviours (such as Senior Leaders, HR and Safety Professionals), as well as frontline operational staff with people management responsibilities, will provide participants with practical tools and strategies to respond to disclosures and formal complaints of inappropriate workplace behaviours (bullying, discrimination, harassment or sexual harassment).  

What you’ll learn

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • identify different forms of inappropriate workplace behaviour 

  • understand legal obligations under state and federal anti-discrimination legislation, the Fair Work Act, and Work Health and Safety Legislation  

  • implement practical strategies for establishing safety and inclusion in the workplace 

  • respond in a person-centred and trauma informed way if you witness or receive disclosures of inappropriate workplace behaviours  

  • balance the obligation to act with the agency of the person experiencing inappropriate workplace behaviours.
